Lagos (LOS) → New York (JFK/EWR)
Since January 2026, the US has restricted new visa issuance for Nigerian citizens under a presidential proclamation. Travellers who already hold a valid, unexpired US visa are not affected by the new restriction. Anyone without a current visa should check the official US Embassy Nigeria notice before booking.
Visa guidance
Important: effective January 1, 2026, the US government partially suspended new visa issuance to Nigerian citizens, including B1/B2 visitor, F/M student, and J exchange visas, under Presidential Proclamation 10998. This does not revoke visas issued before that date — travellers who already hold a valid visa are not affected. Given how quickly this situation is changing, Tripmate strongly recommends checking the official U.S. Embassy in Nigeria notice before making any travel plans or payments tied to US entry.
